was born in 1644, the son of Thomas May, of Sutton Cheyney in
Leicestershire, but was descended from the May family of Wadhurst and
Mayfield in Sussex. Arms:
Gules, a fess between eight billets or, a crescent for difference. Crest:
From a crown or, a leopard's head gules, a crescent for a difference.
