Will of William MAY of Kingsclere
Hampshire, 6th February 1558
In the name of God Amen in the year
of Our Lord God one thousand five hundred and fifty eight the 6th day of
February I Wyllm May of the parish of Kingsclere within the County of
Southampton being in good and fit memory thanks unto Almighty God to
ordain and make this my present Testament and last Will in manner and form
following First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker and redeemer
and my body to be buried in the parish churchyard of Kingsclere
Item I give and bequeath to the cathedral church Winchester 2d
Item I give to the parish church of Kingsclere 8d
Item I give to Joan my daughter one cow
Item I give to Margery Wyllmot one lamb
Item I give to each of my Godchildren 4d
Item I give to Thomas May my green coat my old hoses
Item I give to John May my jerkin and my best hoses
Item the residue of my goods vube my debt and legacy contented and paid I
give and bequeath to Thomas my son whom I make my Executor
