Will of John MAY of Worting
Hampshire, 15th July 1591

In the name of God Amen 15th day of July 1591 I John May of the parish of Worting in the County of Southampton sick in body but good and perfect remembrance God therefore be praised I do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Worting
Item I give to my son Thomas one feather bed in the new chamber with all things there to belonging As ….. it is to be delivered unto him at the death of my wife
Also I give unto my son Thomas my best coat and my best hose
Item I give to John Swan my ….. coat a pair of hose and a pair of stockings
Item I give to Joan Laby one truckle bedstead one flock bed one coverlet one bolster
Item I give to Bridget May one truckle bedstead one flock bed one coverlet and a bolster the whole to be delivered at my death
Item I give to the parish church of Worting 6d
The rest of my goods both moveable and unmoveable not bequeathed I give to Alice my wife whom I make my Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
I nominate and appoint Thomas Woodnott and John Withers and I give to be their payment three shillings four pence
Item I give to George Hurlock and K Gardner my godchildren four pence a piece
